The SafeLink Team

Our engineering team is creating a
new industry in personal location services.

Our highly experienced engineering team has founded and managed successful aerospace development, manufacturing, and consultancy companies with hundreds of millions of dollars in revenues.  We have delivered advanced aerospace products and services to major government and commercial customers worldwide over the past several decades.

Our CEO is George Weischadle, founder and President of Sattel Technologies and a pioneer in commercial satellite systems who contributed to the designs of America's first domestic satellite network, WESTAR, and Asia's first regional satellite network, PALAPA.   Mr. Weischadle holds degrees in electrical engineering, business and law.

Sattel Technologies made history when it purchased an in-orbit telecommunications satellite, brought it back to Earth on the Space Shuttle, then refurbished and relaunched it to become the world's first reconditioned satellite in space.  The Palapa B2-R satellite has a colorful history.

Sattel's customers have been major government-owned telecom network operators worldwide, in addition to NASA, McDonnell Douglas and Hughes Aircraft Co.  Our accomplishments include the first digitally-implemented Intelsat Super-VISTA satellite modem; the first commercial implementation of European GSM standards on satellite links; and the world's largest Demand Assignment Multiple Access (DAMA) public telecommunications system which interconnects many countries and supports a variety of public telecom network signaling protocols.

SafeLink's implementer is Abacus Programming Corp., a well-established software and systems development company with a 40-year track record, headquartered in Los Angeles.  Additional design and analytical support is being provided by SoSACorp based in Virginia.

Since 1966 Abacus has provided design and development services on major well-known programs.  Currently these include the U.S. Space Shuttle, the U.S. Space Station, the U.S. Army Future Combat Systems, the U.S. National Missile Defense System and projects involving systems engineering and software development for major communications satellite systems.  In addition, Abacus is involved in verification and validation of systems and software for NASA ventures in planetary exploration and space science.

Abacus and Sattel have worked together on numerous successful products since 1985 and are a well-established team with an impressive track record of accomplishments.
